Some Vital Don’ts for Visitors on Holiday to the UAE

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the most enticing corners on the face of earth and dazzles with some of the world’s best sights, sounds and smells! Cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah have long tempted keen holiday makers into booking air tickets on UAE flights to get stunned by panoply of exuberant delights. The UAE is an Islamic nation and is very conservative if compared to the western part of the world. It makes sense to pay heed to certain travel tips for a safe and fulfilling holiday to the UAE.

Don’t Be Overtly affectionate in Public

Visitors who are booking UAE flights must refrain from public display of affection once they land in the country. Fondling or kissing in public is deemed offensive to the culture of the country. Also it is illegal for unmarried couples to share a room in the UAE. Lovebirds on flights to the country must exercise caution to avoid unwanted attention and run their perfectly planned holidays into bad weathers.

Don’t Wear Revealing Clothes

The UAE is an Islamic nation and visitors must go modest in terms of dressing when in the country. It is important to avoid revealing, short or transparent attire. Also avoid dresses that carry offensive slogans or pictures. While beachwear and bikinis are allowed on the beaches, topless sunbathing on the beaches is considered illegal and could lead to imprisonment or deportation.

Don’t Disparage the Religion

The religion of Islam is an important part of the UAE culture and it is important for visitors on UAE flights to be respectful towards the religion. Acts of disparaging the religion may attract hefty fines and/or severe imprisonment.

Don’t Disparage the Rulers

UAE leaders are considered to be highly-respected figures in the country. Indulging in the acts of disparaging the rulers, criticizing them or passing insulting remarks about the country or the leaders is considered illegal and may lead to severe repercussions.

Don’t Eat, Drink or Smoke during Ramadan

Consuming food, drink, cigarettes or playing music at high volumes in public during the month of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims is an offense reprehensible by law. Visitors on UAE flights during the month of Ramadan must refrain from eating, drinking or smoking in public.
